This holiday season, help rush life-saving medical care to people in Syria and beyond.

An Urgent Appeal from SAMS Chairman,
Dr. Basel Termanini:

Dear SAMS Supporter and Fellow Humanitarian,

As the Syrian crisis approaches its 12th year, I ask you to join together with SAMS to help deliver urgently-needed medical care to conflict-impacted families in Syria and beyond.

With nearly 7 million people forcibly displaced within its borders, Syria continues to be one of the world’s worst internal displacement crises. Nearly 2 million people, 80% of whom are women and children, continue to live in tented internal displacement camps, with limited access to safe water, adequate sewage, electricity, or heating.

Snow, rain, and harsh winter weather compounds the suffering of vulnerable families, many of whom are living in tents which are more than 6 years-old. Amid protracted displacement and rising poverty, families are also facing a new and serious health threat – an outbreak of cholera - an acute diarrheal infection caused by contaminated water or food, which, if not treated early, can be fatal.

In response to growing health needs, SAMS' valiant medical teams are working tirelessly, delivering an average of 200,000 medical services per month free of charge to people in need. We are also responding to the cholera outbreak by providing medications and rehydration to the sick, distributing supplies for disease prevention and control, training personnel, and leading public awareness campaigns.

In addition to our work in Syria, we are providing essential medical services and aid to refugees and vulnerable populations in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, and Iraq and also supporting the healthcare response in Ukraine.

This holiday season, I ask you to join our efforts. Please make a tax-deductible donation, today to ensure that conflict-impacted populations receive the medical care they urgently need. Thank you for your compassion and support.

Wishing you joy and peace this holiday season.

Sincerely

Basel Termanini, MD
Chairman
