Every child deserves to hear “I love you.” | Taqa’s Journey
At just four years old, Taqa has never heard the sound of her father’s voice. But thanks to generous supporters like you, that’s beginning to change.
Taqa recently underwent cochlear implant surgery as part of SAMS’ first-phase program in Jordan. She is one of ten refugee children given a chance to hear and to live in a world filled with connection and joy. Though the device has only just been implanted, her father’s heart is already full of hope.
“I imagine the moment she calls me Baba for the first time… what a day that will be.”
Taqa’s father works with children, teaching life skills. But nothing could prepare him for the moment he learned his own daughter would be receiving her surgery. He broke down in tears in front of his students.
“After four years of Taqa’s life she’ll be able to hear… I’ll get to play with her… And she’ll be able to hear my voice.”
