Key Responsibilities:

  • Create actionable plans to both grow followers across social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy and visual assets through language, tone, and terminology
  • Ensure and maintain progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights
  • Develop and implement media outreach efforts, including but not limited to crafting press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and media plans to support SAMS’ outreach and advocacy efforts
  • Secure and coordinate TV, radio, and press interviews, op-eds, and media appearances
  • Supervise and develop HQ and field media teams
  • Oversee the drafting, design, and implementation of monthly social media editorial calendars and newsletters which includes monthly highlights from the field and announcements
  • Promote SAMS’s projects and events, including but not limited to medical relief work, education, advocacy, conferences, and fundraising events
  • Lead the development, drafting, and design of annual reports
  • Works with in-house graphic designer and video editor for content creation and formatting resources and materials, infographics, presentations, booklet, graphics, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments and develops marketing and written material to help promote their work through various social media mediums and other necessary means
  • Devise, oversee, and implement a strategy for written content and messages to promote various fundraising and awareness campaigns (special appeals, events, monthly giving. Etc.) through online outreach
  • Manage the creative process for online fundraising, including the creation of copy and artwork for all digital fundraising campaigns
  • Lead production, execution, and analysis of email, web, peer-to-peer, pay-per-click, and other online initiatives designed to generate excitement around programs and substantive work to promote online giving and to convert website and social media audiences to donors
  • Work closely with all departments to create integrated, multi-channeled, and interactive online initiatives to maximize online engagement
  • Identify cross-promotion opportunities
  • Oversees and helps manage the monitoring and evaluation of online platforms
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 – 7 years of related experience in strategic communications for nonprofits, brand and audience strategy, advertising, online fundraising, and marketing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and overseeing direct reports
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency with website and social media platforms and digital content production
  • Proficiency in the Arabic language is a big plus
